Formal Writing & Novel Study

Produce formal writing covering letter writing and articles. AS# 90053, worth 3 credits.

Read, study and show understanding of extended written text. This unit contains a novel study. AS# 90054, worth 2 credits.

MATHS
Number, Fractions and Algebra Study

Solve straightforward number problems in context. This unit focuses on number problems involving fractions, decimals, percentages and ratios. AS# 90151, worth 3 credits. Use straightforward algebraic methods and solve equations. This cover algebraic expressions and equations selected to solve problems. AS# 90147, worth 4 credits.

You will also be able to attend end of year revision classes. Course Fee: $ 50

Short Stories and Film Study

Read, study and show understanding of a number of short written texts. This unit contains short stories or poetry. AS# 90055, worth 2 credits.

View, listen to, study and show understanding of a visual or oral text. This contains a film or video study. AS# 90056, worth 2 credits.

Graphs and Trigonometry Study
Demonstrate an understanding of the features of graphs. Understand x and y intercepts, maximums and minimums, axes of symmetry, gradients and transformations. AS# 90148, worth 3 credits.
Solve right angle triangle problems. Apply Pythagoras' theorum and trigonometry ratios to solve triangle problems. AS# 90152, worth 2 credits.

Comprehension and Passage Study

Read and show understanding of unfamiliar text. This unit covers comprehension and study techniques of six different passages. AS# 90057, worth 3 credits.

Geometry and Probability Study
Course covers the following:
Use geometric reasonong to solve problems. This unit applies the properties of polygons and lines to solve problems. AS# 90153, worth 2 credits.
Determine probabilities. This study uses statistics and theoretical reasoning to calculate probable results. AS# 90194, worth 2 credits.

Biology Level 1
