Embroidery - Hardanger
Hardanger is traditional Norwegian Embroidery, it is very easy and fast to do - an excellent first project for the true beginner as no previous skill is required. Also suitable for non-beginners with a project in mind. All straight stitches, counted and arranged geometrically on special fabric, which will create a stunning effect. Finishing Touch Flowers
A fun class with a simple approach towards designing eye-catching floral arrangements using both fresh and faux flowers. Most materials you can use can be picked from your garden. Additional costs may be incurred for floral sundries. A requirement sheet will also be sent to you prior to the start of the course. Course Fee: $ 60

Floristry - Bunches and Bouquets
This is an introduction to flower arranging and presentation of floral arrangements. In this beginner's course you will learn elements and principles of design as well as the care and treatment of flowers. How to spiral a posy and flat wrap a bouquet, container arrangements, and the use of sprays, wiring and taping. Most of the materials are provided for you, but there will be some additional outlay for fresh flowers. You will be advised the week before. A requirement sheet will be sent to you prior to the start of the course. Course Fee: $60

Introduction to Printmaking (NEW) Printmaking is an exciting art process which allows you to create several copies of an image. It often seems mysterious to the uninitiated and this course is designed to demystify the process by introducing you to several different methods of making prints. It helps to enjoy surprises, as what you end up with isn't always what you expected. Participants will explore monoprint, collograph and woodcut, and, time permitting, drypoint. We will also explore different ways of adding colour or textural interest to black and white prints through hand colouring and collage. Most materials will be supplied but some tools may need to be purchased by students.

Leadlight
This class is suitable for both beginners and experienced leadlighters. If you are beginning you will learn to work with glass, copper foil, lead and glass mosaics with different projects, e.g. copper foil suncatcher, coloured leadlight. You may have to buy about $150 of tools and equipment depending on what you have around home - your tutor will advise you on the first night. The cost of your tools is offset by the value of the first few pieces you'll complete. Enrol with a friend and share the tools cost. Some tools are available for hire, call the Night School Office for more information.
If you are continuing with your leadlighting, bring along your own project and make use of the guidance of our expert tutor to help you produce professional results.
The first Saturday class is from 9.30 to 11.30 am only for glass cutting and going over the tools and materials required for the rest of the course. Course Fee: $ 60

Mosaics I
Enjoy learning the basic art of Mosaics. Break out those creative talents by creating decorative and versatile mosaics for indoor and outdoor use. No experience needed. Turn up on the first night with a stepping stone with a flat surface, and some coloured tiles and you will find out how simple this ancient art is. From week 2 you will need to bring extra bits and pieces to add to your project (e.g. glass nuggets, wall tiles, buttons). A full list of materials will be sent to you.
Alternatively you will be able to purchase a starter kit for approx. $40 from the tutor on the first evening. Starter kits will need to be ordered at least one week before the class start date. Course Fee: $ 50

Pattern Design & Garment Making
Learn to take measurements and draft a pattern block to suit your unique body shape. Learn to alter your basic block to suit any style that you require. Then make a garment from your drafted pattern. You will need to have your own sewing machine at home. Course Fee: $ 60

Investigate man's clay origins and move/progress into all aspects of pot making. This 8 week course will give freedom to your ideas resulting in the production of clay forms. Scrapbooking for Beginners (NEW)
This is an introductory course to learn fundamental scrapbooking skills that you can adapt to your own personal style to create beautiful photo albums. In this course you will learn to select, crop and mount your photos. You will create photosafe pages using a range of tools, decorative papers and stickers from simple traditional styles through to more decorative pages. Zany Knitters (NEW)
Let me help you, the beginner, learn this exciting craft and for the more advanced learner, encourage you to be a creative knitter. This hobby is a wonderful way to add creativity to your wardrobe, and is also a very popular way to furnish your home with uniquely crafted accessories. Many opportunities will be undertaken using a variety of yarns for the beginner or more advanced knitter.
An optional field trip is available to a local working sheep farm at $12 per person. You can watch hand shearing, try it yourself, and also have a try at spinning some wool. Course Fee: $ 45
